Guide to those who buy engine oil (no matter what brand) for your machines (vehicles or industrial). To ensure that you are covered by the engine oil manufacturer’s warranty, please note the following:

(1) In the label or on the bottle itself, there is usually a batch production reference number. It is advisable to keep the bottle or pail or drum after each time using the engine oil for reference. This is to ensure smooth investigation processes shall there be any problems occurred related to claims on the quality of the oil.  After subsequent engine oil changes, you can dispose of old bottle and keep the latest bottle. You can also snap pictures of the label (front and back) and save it on your computer.

(2) Avoid mixing any other ingredients into your engine oil before you completely pour it in your engine. If you do such, the risk is that the warranty will be void and your claims will be rejected, especially if the material you are mixing is not from the same brand or manufacturer. Laboratory tests can easily detect them.

(3) Be sure to purchase only from authorized agents and authorized distributors of the brand. If necessary, ask the seller to show the appointment certificate to verify that they are the valid agent or distributor. This is to avoid imitation products.

(4) Never temper with the evidence of any defective engines or components without the consent from the manufacturer or its authorized agent. Ask them to witness the defect engines or components. Take all necessary photos during the drainage of the used oil from the engine and other related photos if you have to dismantle the engine from  your machine or vehicle. The method obtaining the used oil sample is also important for accurate Used Oil Test result. Once the evidence had been tampered with without the consent or present of the manufacturer or their authorized representative, then the warranty is void.

Please take attention on the above four items as they are very important, in order to protect your rights. The law will protect your rights and also their rights.

Panduan buat anda yang membeli minyak enjin @ minyak hitam (tak kira apa jenama @ brand ).

Untuk memastikan anda dilindungi oleh warranty dari pihak pengeluar minyak enjin, sila perhatikan perkara berikut:

(1) Pada label di botol atau pada botol/pail/drum, biasanya terdapat rujukan batch number pengeluaran. Sebaiknya simpan botol minyak selepas setiap kali menggunakan minyak enjin untuk rujukan jika terdapat sebarang masalah yang berkaitan claim @ tuntutan ke atas kualiti minyak tersebut. Setelah membuat service dan pertukaran minyak enjin berikutnya, anda boleh lupuskan botol lama dan simpan botol yang terbaru sahaja. Boleh juga anda ambil gambar-gambar label (depan dan belakang) dan simpan di komputer anda.

(2) Elakkan mencampurkan sebarang bahan lain ke dalam BOTOL minyak enjin anda. Jika anda melakukannya, risiko yang anda akan hadapi adalah tuntutan warranty @ claim anda menjadi void @ batal, terutama jika bahan yang anda campurkan itu bukan dari brand atau pengeluar yang sama. Ujian makmal dengan mudah dapat mengesannya.

(3) Pastikan anda membeli dari ejen atau wakil pengedar yang sah dan berdaftar sahaja. Jika perlu minta penjual tunjukkan sijil perlantikan sebagai ejen atau wakil pengedar yang sah.

(4) Pastikan anda tidak mengusik atau mengganggu bahan bukti dari enjin yang bermasalah dan komponen-komponennya tanpa persetujuan atau kehadiran pihak pengeluar atau wakilnya yang sah. Minta mereka datang menyaksikan enjin atau komponen yang bermasalah tersebut dan ambil gambar-gambar berkaitan ketika minyak enjin terpakai dikeluarkan dari enjin, aktiviti membuka engin serta komponen-komponennya ketika meraka hadir bersama anda. Kaedah yang betul ketika mengeluarkan minyak enjin terpakai dari enjin akan mempengaruhi keputusan Ujian Minyak Terpakai. Jika anda mengusik atau mengganggu bahan bukti tersebut, maka warranty akan terbatal dan tuntutan anda akan ditolak.

Kesemua empat perkara di atas adalah sangat penting untuk diambil perhatian oleh anda sebagai pengguna agar hak anda dilindungi. Undang-undang akan melindungi hak anda sebagai pengguna dan juga hak pengeluar.
